As a
Bakery Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the strategic direction, coordination, and assessment of the Bakery department, ensuring that our Customers receive outstanding service.

You will lead a team of Partners.

We are looking for:

- a certified Bakery Specialist or equivalent (e.g., RBA-certified Master Baker) or

  • School of Retail Management (SORM) training: a comprehensive program designed for aspiring H-E-B Partners committed to managerial roles in store operations
experience in team leadership, inventory management, and shrink control
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to guide and train a high-volume production team

What does the role entail?

Management Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes independent judgment to make employment-related and business decisions, including product and departmental strategies, hiring, promotions, and resolving Partner-related issues
  • Trains School of Retail Management (SORM) and School of Retail Leadership (SORL) trainees
  • Supports all Partners in the department with their responsibilities; coaches, trains, and evaluates as necessary
  • Holds Partners accountable for adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Develops work schedules, orders products, manages inventory, and oversees departmental budget and payroll

Production Duties:

  • Creates the production plan; ensures appropriate quantities are produced
  • Maintains optimal product levels through weekly reviews of production quantities
  • Monitors showcase production and tracks stale items
  • Accountable for the outcomes of the Bakery Scorecard

Sales Objectives:

  • Implements merchandising initiatives and boosts sales by producing the right variety and quantity of bakery products daily
  • Responsible for a diverse product range and substantial sales volume
  • Enhances departmental contributions by effectively managing shrink and inventory levels
  • Upholds the highest standards of customer service through personal example, SOP compliance, and accountability

Food Safety and Sanitation:

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and H-E-B policies and standards for food safety and sanitation
  • Maintains the safety and sanitation of equipment and the department; upholds sanitation standards throughout the work area

What is your background?

  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Certified Bakery Specialist or equivalent (e.g., Retail Bakery Association-Certified Master Baker preferred)
  • Completion of H-E-B School of Retail Management (upon hire)
  • Food Safety certification
  • Forklift / power jack training
