The Vice President of Philanthropy at Woman's Hospital is responsible for spearheading the charitable strategy and fundraising efforts that align with the mission of enhancing the health of women and infants. This position also serves as the President/Chief Executive of the Foundation For Woman's, an independent organization. The Vice President acts as the primary liaison with the Foundation For Woman's Board of Trustees, fostering and sustaining a strong, positive rapport with Board members. This role is vital in cultivating relationships with donors, stakeholders, and the community to secure financial support for patient care, research, and facility enhancements. The Vice President promotes a culture of philanthropy both within the organization and in the wider community, on both a state and national level. This position is tasked with developing and executing strategic plans for various fundraising initiatives, including planned giving, endowment campaigns, special events, capital development, annual contributions, workplace giving, and major gifts. Maintaining robust community relationships through networking and participation in social and business events, both during and outside of regular business hours, is essential.

Additionally, this role oversees the Volunteer Services program for Woman's Hospital.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and professional experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred. CFRE certification is also preferred.
  • A minimum of years of progressive experience in fundraising and philanthropy, ideally within a healthcare or hospital environment.
  • Significant experience in healthcare or community service, along with a solid understanding of fundraising principles, is essential. Extensive experience working with an engaged board and volunteers is also necessary.
  • A proven history of successfully securing major gifts and managing comprehensive fundraising campaigns.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker capable of developing and implementing effective philanthropic strategies.
  • A strong understanding of philanthropic trends, best practices, and ethical standards.

  • **Philanthropic Strategy:** Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropic strategy that aligns with the hospital's mission and strategic objectives.
  • **Fundraising Leadership:** Oversee all fundraising activities, including major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and special events.
  • **Donor Cultivation:** Establish and maintain strong relationships with major donors, foundations, and key stakeholders to maximize philanthropic support.
  • **Board Engagement:** Collaborate with the Board of Trustees and other volunteer leaders to engage in fundraising efforts and advocacy.
  • **Team Management:** Lead a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure that goals are met and exceeded.
  • **Campaign Management:** Direct capital campaigns and fundraising drives, establishing clear objectives, timelines, and benchmarks for success.
  • **Collaboration:** Work closely with hospital leadership, including physicians, administrators, and program directors, to identify funding priorities and opportunities for support.
  • **Communication:** Communicate effectively to engage others and achieve desired outcomes.
  • **Integrity:** Uphold and promote a culture of integrity, ethics, and transparency.

Work Schedule:

Full-Time; Monday - Friday with evening, night, and weekend engagements as required.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.
