Job Title: Vice President of Operations

At United Future, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Operations to lead our operations team in achieving excellence in maintenance, safety, and production. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive operational efficiency, improve quality, and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Collaborate with executives and General Managers to foster a culture of operational excellence, assist in short- and long-term strategic planning, policy development, and execution.
  • Capital Project Oversight: Manage capital expenditures and improvement projects, approve project scope, objectives, and commissioning, report on Profit and Loss, prepare equipment budgets, and oversee major installations, expansions, or repairs.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Champion health and safety across all facilities, ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM, RMP, and other regulatory standards, oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Operational Efficiency: Drive profitability and innovation by implementing cost-saving initiatives and optimizing workflows, provide General Managers with tools, analysis, and recommendations to improve operational effectiveness, use lean manufacturing practices to forecast margins and schedule resources.
  • Engineering and Maintenance: Lead the Engineering Team in adhering to maintenance plans and budgets, provide technical support to plant management on maintenance strategies and projects, oversee maintenance of physical assets, including refrigeration, wastewater, and mechanical systems.
  • Team Development and Leadership: Develop and mentor direct reports to meet business objectives, ensure staff have the training, resources, and support to succeed, champion safety, skill development, and succession planning within the team.
  • Transportation and Logistics: Guide the development of third-party transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of finished products, monitor relationships with providers and adapt to changing business volumes, supporting transportation, operations, and logistics initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in operations, management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in commercial food operations, preferably in protein-related industries.
  • Expertise in quality and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and industry-specific reporting systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and system improvement skills.
  • Ability to deliver impactful presentations on complex issues.
  • Travel up to 50% for business meetings with partners, customers, vendors, and suppliers.
