Position Overview

The role entails a range of technical and administrative responsibilities, involving collaboration with various personnel across the organization.

Typically operates with moderate guidance on routine tasks and receives general instructions for new projects. Contributes to the design of system solutions while also overseeing the operational upkeep of enterprise systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct daily system assessments to ensure the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and critical processes. This includes reviewing system and application logs and confirming the successful completion of scheduled tasks such as backups. Maintain hardware and software inventory records. Execute daily backup procedures, ensuring that all necessary file systems and system data are securely backed up to the designated media, with recovery tapes or disks created and appropriately managed.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance of the enterprise system infrastructure (both physical and virtual) and related operations/applications. Assist in the planning and execution of system enhancements to fulfill reliability, maintainability, scalability, and capacity needs.
  • Manage the distribution and documentation of all revisions as they occur. Create, modify, and remove user accounts as requested.
  • Assist in the deployment of new systems to bolster infrastructure and applications in line with established standards and operational/project requirements.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for escalated service desk inquiries, adhering to established protocols, and offer mentorship to junior Systems Engineers.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Current MCSA certification or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Microsoft Solutions/System Administration.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Exchange 2010/2016 environments with Database Availability Groups (DAG).
  • Familiarity with email scanning/filtering systems (e.g., Proofpoint).
  • Experience with Hyper-V/VMware virtual environments and SAN technologies.
  • Understanding of networking principles and technologies (e.g., TCP/UDP protocols, iSCSI, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
  • Preferred experience in the financial services sector.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary for this position ranges from $40.90/hr. to $67.48/hr. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, experience, and performance. A discretionary bonus and/or business line incentive may be provided, along with medical and other benefits, depending on the role.
