Position Overview

Become a vital part of Autodesk's mission to revolutionize the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector. Our commitment lies in assisting clients to prioritize sustainability, embrace outcome-driven design, and develop digital twins, among other innovations. At Autodesk, we are modernizing our applications using state-of-the-art technologies, including cloud-native solutions, AI-driven functionalities, and sophisticated 3D modeling and visualization.

As an essential member of our software architecture team, you will play a pivotal role in steering the architectural evolution across our AEC software suite. Your contributions will be instrumental in fostering a more sustainable future within the AEC domain. You will report directly to the Vice President, Chief Architect, AEC.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate and disseminate a technical vision centered on data management, scalable computing, and artificial intelligence technologies.
  • Define and refine the architecture of our systems.
  • Oversee system-level design across diverse product areas.
  • Establish and uphold standards for software design, employing formal methodologies.
  • Ensure accountability for work through implementation and deployment.
  • Facilitate the architecture council and convey technical subjects to varied audiences.
  • Collaborate with senior architects within AEC and counterparts in other divisions.
  • Influence strategy, planning, and execution through architectural and system expertise.
  • Lead initiatives to construct secure systems with an emphasis on privacy, reliability, and performance.
  • Share insights through internal and external communications.
  • Occasionally travel to attend conferences, engage with development teams, and stay informed on architectural trends and technologies.
  • Work alongside peers to comprehend the technology landscape, identify opportunities, and drive transformation.
  • Champion the reuse of platform capabilities and contribute to the Autodesk platform.
  • Enhance Autodesk's architectural standards, documentation, and processes.
  • Engage in technical working groups and mentor colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Over 15 years of experience in software architecture, with a minimum of 10 years in cloud-based software.
  • Proven track record of delivering cloud software across various products and sectors.
  • Recognized for expertise and accountability without the need for daily oversight.
  • Experience in defining software architecture practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry.
  • Advanced degree in computer science.
  • Experience leading or managing an architecture team or council.
  • Industry authority in software architecture practices.

Salary Transparency

Autodesk provides competitive compensation packages, including base salaries, annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and comprehensive benefits. For U.S.-based roles, the starting base salary ranges from $207,400 to $335,500 based on experience and location. In Canada-BC, the starting base salary ranges from $192,000 to $264,000.
