Job OverviewPosition Summary
Become a key member of a pioneering technology team focused on creating advanced medical systems. The Monitoring Solutions division is dedicated to developing technologies that significantly enhance critical patient care, benefiting both healthcare professionals and patients alike. This position will take on a leadership role in the product development lifecycle, contributing to all phases of medical device design and development, including conception, definition, design, implementation, testing, validation, manufacturing, and post-market support. Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary field that emphasizes a holistic approach, mindset, and methodology. All efforts will address both business and technical requirements of clients, aiming to deliver a high-quality product that fulfills user expectations.

This position requires onsite presence 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional product development initiatives to define, design, and implement new products and enhancements.
  • Oversee the delivery of technical content and quality management outputs.
  • Define system and sub-system boundaries, ensuring optimal functionality distribution between modules to meet specifications and enhance user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams to establish design parameters from high-level architecture to technology selection and evaluation.
  • Guide design teams through the design control process, including requirements flow down, system design, risk analysis, integration, testing, verification, validation, and customer support to ensure satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary author and reviewer for system architecture, test design, design documentation, and customer-facing materials.
  • Ensure timely solutions through detailed comparative analysis of options with global stakeholders, ensuring scalability, sustainability, fault tolerance, and adherence to operational cost constraints.
  • Work with technical teams to manage program risks, design trade-offs, and track outcomes using established metrics.
Qualifications/Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
  • A minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in a relevant domain.
  • Strong understanding of requirements generation, reliability planning, failure mode analysis, SDLC, and design standards.
  • Familiarity with software system design concepts and subsystem interactions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to analyze and resolve issues.
Desired Attributes:
  • Experience with GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, and applicable regulations.
  • Expertise in Medical Device Software Design Principles and regulatory requirements across various countries.
  • Demonstrated experience with quality and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Proven success in problem definition, technical breakdown, and project estimation.
  • Leadership experience with strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to review and develop design requirements at the domain level, aligning architectural needs with software development strategies and regulatory mandates.
  • Knowledge of software design principles, cybersecurity, cloud development, microservice architecture, distributed systems, and edge computing.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++/C#, Java, Python, or similar.
  • Familiarity with technologies including Docker/Kubernetes, REST Web Services, and cloud deployment across SaaS/PaaS/IaaS.
