The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center is renowned for its innovative approaches to treating vascular system disorders, such as abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, and peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The non-invasive diagnostic vascular laboratory provides comprehensive services for various vascular conditions. Our vascular surgeons and technologists utilize cutting-edge treatment and imaging technologies to deliver precise care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct precise and high-quality diagnostic evaluations

• Educate and mentor students and new technologists

• Collaborate with referring physicians and fellow technologists

• Review diagnostic outcomes with the Technical/Medical Director

• Maintain a productive number of studies each day

• Ensure adequate supply and linen stock

• Adhere to Vascular Lab protocols

• Provide exceptional patient care

• Recommend and perform additional relevant studies based on initial findings or patient conditions

• Deliver initial preliminary interpretations

• Assess which studies are suitable for bedside execution based on patient health status

• Independently conduct vascular studies

• Operate various plethysmographic devices and ultrasound machines

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma is required

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT, RVS) with at least one year of clinical ultrasound experience in venous, carotid, arterial, and abdominal testing

• BLS certification is mandatory

• Familiarity with pulse volume recordings, segmental pressures, and Doppler waveform analysis or completion of a CAAHEP vascular sonography program

• In-depth understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation principles, and vascular testing

• Proficient in PC operation and use of Vascular databases

• Knowledgeable in all diagnostic duplex ultrasound procedures performed within the department

The working hours for this position are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with varying days and alternate weekends. Flexibility to cover other areas as per departmental needs may be required.
