The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center is renowned for its innovative approaches to treating various vascular disorders, including aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, and peripheral arterial disease. Our non-invasive diagnostic vascular laboratory provides comprehensive services for all vascular conditions. Our skilled vascular surgeons and technologists utilize cutting-edge imaging and treatment technologies to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct precise and high-quality diagnostic examinations.
• Mentor and support the training of students and new technologists.
• Collaborate with referring physicians and other staff.
• Review diagnostic results with the Technical and Medical Directors.
• Maintain a productive daily study schedule.
• Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
• Adhere to the Vascular Lab workflow protocols.
• Provide outstanding patient care.
• Recommend and perform additional relevant studies based on initial findings.
• Deliver preliminary interpretations of diagnostic results.
• Assess which studies are suitable for bedside execution based on patient conditions.
• Independently perform vascular examinations.
• Operate various ultrasound devices and equipment.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma is mandatory.
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT, RVS) certification with at least one year of clinical ultrasound experience in venous, carotid, arterial, and abdominal assessments is required.
• BLS certification is essential.
• Familiarity with pulse volume recordings, segmental pressures, and Doppler waveform analysis or completion of a CAAHEP vascular sonography program is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation principles, and vascular testing methodologies.
• Proficient in using PCs and Vascular databases.
The working hours for this position are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with varying days and alternate weekends. Flexibility to cover additional areas as needed by the department is required.
