Job Summary

Wilsonart is seeking a highly skilled Plant Manager to lead our Solid Surface Manufacturing facility in Temple, TX. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the manufacturing operations, driving sustainable improvement in safety, quality, service, and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and engage in daily management reviews to drive targeted improvement in safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing standard practices and processes, including equipment, training, policies, and procedures.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop countermeasures to improve performance.
  • Maintain a multi-year capacity roadmap for the manufacturing location and promote the diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business.
  • Develop and facilitate associate development in operational excellence tools and kaizen leadership.
  • Communicate and drive best practices across the business and facilitate Wilsonart leadership benchmarking sessions between locations.
  • Work with the quality and operational excellence team to schedule events and obtain necessary resources to support the evolution of operational excellence tools.
  • Maintain and support ISO quality process certification and establish annual environmental and energy reduction targets.
  • Develop staff in operational excellence and manufacturing/supply chain capabilities to facilitate talent development across Wilsonart.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs and incorporate shop-floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
  • Drive volume growth and productivity improvements by implementing lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with support functions to establish and implement appropriate systems in support of production operations goal optimization.
  • Select and maintain qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly or indirectly.
  • Facilitate new product launches to assure successful implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, corporate, and local policies and promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or other technical discipline.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a similar or industry-related role, with 2+ years in a leadership capacity in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience working in global/cross-cultural environments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of utilizing lean manufacturing techniques and leading in a team-based work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills, statistical and analytical problem-solving, and demonstrated track record of growing and developing direct reports.
