Union Organizing Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Collaborate with the Organizing Team and Regional Director to formulate a strategic operational plan.
- Engage actively in MOR meetings to share valuable insights and creative solutions.
- Ensure the accuracy and upkeep of the database for assigned organizations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Develop and sustain an effective worker leadership structure.
- Oversee and contribute to the development and training of a volunteer organization.
- Implement strategies to enhance worker participation.
- Provide support to worker leaders in agenda formulation.
- Address and utilize workers' concerns and interests.
- Collaborate with relevant state and federal entities as necessary.
- Achieve majority backing within designated organizations.
- Facilitate NLRB/ALRB elections.
- Conduct card check recognition procedures.
- Organize third-party recognition elections.
- Demonstrate expertise in leading and finalizing organizing campaigns.
PLANNING & ADMINISTRATION
- Work with the negotiating committee to prepare for negotiations.
- Establish industry and area councils to strengthen bargaining power.
- Implement innovative approaches to finalize the initial contract.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Foster positive relationships with management in assigned organizations.
- Maintain connections with organizing and negotiations committees.
- Direct media inquiries to the Regional Director.
- Build strong partnerships with community, political, and religious leaders.
- ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
- Oversee the activities of the organizing team and negotiations committee.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Education:
Completion of high school or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in organizing, committee formation, and leadership development.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with the MOR planning process and effective training methodologies. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Understanding of UFW's history and mission.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform calculations involving figures and amounts.
REASONING ABILITY
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage various situations with limited standardization.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required: Class 'C' Driver's License. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
