Role Overview: In the capacity of a Community Engagement Organizer, your primary focus will be on mobilizing new bargaining units to join SEIU Local.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting non-union employees to become part of SEIU Local
  • Fostering relationships, inspiring workers, and assembling organizing committees
  • Identifying and nurturing leadership, orchestrating events, and implementing strategic actions
  • Preparing for union elections and enhancing community outreach efforts
  • Contributing to significant local union initiatives

Essential Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours
  • Dedication to social and economic equity
  • Experience in grassroots organizing
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Capability to collaborate with diverse populations and engage in strategic thinking
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills and teamwork
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license and auto insurance
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred

Compensation and Benefits: Salary range $X - $X. Employees receive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, and additional perks.

Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license, successful completion of a DMV check, auto insurance, and a vehicle for business purposes are mandatory.
