Job Summary

The Hill Group is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in the HVAC division. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of projects ranging from $5M to multiple projects totaling that value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and fabrication, presenting alternative options to clients.
  • Estimate and bid projects, analyzing project documents, vendor offers, and Hill project requirements.
  • Promote collaboration among Hill disciplines to deliver comprehensive project solutions.
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and job hazard analyses.
  • Maintain an on-site presence, ensuring a basic understanding of all project scopes, including electrical, structural, and mechanical aspects.
  • Manage construction schedules, recognizing and addressing any deviations or delays.
  • Process field work orders, RFIs, pay applications, change orders, submittals, and other project-related documents.
  • Understand and comply with project requirements, such as OCIP/CCIP, tax exemptions, workforce and contract diversity goals, certified payrolls, and other regulatory aspects.
  • Develop and implement MBE/WBE/DBE work plans with strategic partners.
  • Monitor project metrics, including labor metrics, and complete monthly forecasting of projects.
  • Responsible for post-project review, metrics sharing, and lessons learned.
  • Mentor, train, and develop Project Engineers and Interns, delegating tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience working for a mechanical contractor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Penta, and OnBase is a plus.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Card is required; other safety certifications are a plus.

  • Dependability, organization, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to travel in and around the greater Chicagoland area, including Northwest Indiana.
