Position Overview

Ares Management is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the evolution of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting strategy. This role is pivotal in shaping the firm’s messaging and distribution of ESG content, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The Vice President of ESG Reporting and Strategy will:
  • Collaborate with the ESG team to spearhead thought leadership initiatives, ensuring coherent messaging and demonstrable financial and sustainability impacts.
  • Oversee the comprehensive development of the Annual Sustainability Report, TCFD Report, and Sustainability Disclosures, ensuring adherence to external standards such as GRI and SASB/IFRS.
  • Manage the firm’s engagement with third-party ESG ratings agencies, including performance monitoring and recommending enhancements.
  • Work closely with Compliance to fulfill ESG regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to corporate publications and regulatory filings, enhancing the firm’s ESG narrative.
  • Support the broader ESG team with project management and the creation of internal and external deliverables.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree; an MBA or equivalent in finance, economics, or environmental management is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in ESG reporting, communications, or corporate social responsibility, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing ESG reporting strategies that meet diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Familiarity with ESG industry initiatives and reporting frameworks, including PRI, TCFD, GRI, SASB/IFRS, and CSRD.
  • Experience in creating sustainability-related communication strategies and managing ESG data and KPIs.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with various internal teams and manage multiple projects effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $195,000, with total compensation potentially including a discretionary performance-based bonus.
