Patient Services Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience from registration to check-in.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients and collect necessary information, including insurance details and photo ID
- Verify and document insurance information according to current business practices
- Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently using our practice management system
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and information regarding appointments, referrals, and copayments
- Prepare and manage patient charts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
- Answer patient calls, schedule appointments, and direct calls as necessary
- Maintain a working knowledge of healthcare plan requirements and networks
- Ensure timely communication with patients, families, and staff
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Customer service experience essential
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, and business ethics guidelines
- Complete job-required training
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, and employment laws
- Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
- Work in a clinic, office, or surgery center during business hours
- Travel independently throughout the facility, with frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping, or sitting required
- Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines
- Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet daily operations expectations
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Understand and execute a variety of instructions
- Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Travel to other work locations, if required
