Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience from registration to check-in.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients and collect necessary information, including insurance details and photo ID
  • Verify and document insurance information according to current business practices
  • Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently using our practice management system
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and information regarding appointments, referrals, and copayments
  • Prepare and manage patient charts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Answer patient calls, schedule appointments, and direct calls as necessary
  • Maintain a working knowledge of healthcare plan requirements and networks
  • Ensure timely communication with patients, families, and staff
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Customer service experience essential
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred
Essential Requirements
  • Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, and business ethics guidelines
  • Complete job-required training
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, and employment laws
  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
  • Work in a clinic, office, or surgery center during business hours
  • Travel independently throughout the facility, with frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping, or sitting required
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet daily operations expectations
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Travel to other work locations, if required
