We are currently seeking a Communications Manager to collaborate with our Marketing team in various aspects of copywriting and strategic public relations. This role involves crafting and refining written communications for AMS members, stakeholders, and the broader public, as well as developing and implementing a comprehensive public relations strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute effective communication strategies.
  • Design and implement a public relations plan while nurturing media relationships.
  • Create and edit original content for both digital and print platforms.
  • Enhance existing content to ensure clarity and engagement.
  • Raise public awareness regarding AMS's initiatives and achievements.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in the writing, editing, and proofreading of AMS publications, including newsletters, blogs, marketing materials, and reports.
  • Develop and execute a strategic public relations plan to elevate the organization's image within the educational community.
  • Manage media relations by establishing and maintaining connections with journalists and influencers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
  • Support the executive director with various projects, including strategic communications and presentations.
  • Utilize engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and make data-driven improvements.
  • Craft compelling content that effectively conveys the organization's mission and initiatives to diverse audiences.
  • Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for proactive communication.
  • Assist in the development of educational reports and publications that align with the organization's goals.
  • Maintain and update AMS's writing style guidelines to ensure consistency across departments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in copywriting or public relations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for various audiences.
  • Strong grammar and proofreading abilities, ensuring high-quality written content.
  • Experience with communication analytics platforms to inform strategic decisions.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices in content creation.
  • Proven storytelling and content creation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive approach to problem-solving.
