The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is on the lookout for an Event Coordination Specialist to oversee the comprehensive management of events for the organization.

This role entails the orchestration of logistical elements for VEDP's various events, which encompass trade exhibitions, marketing initiatives, site selection consultant gatherings, conferences, and familiarization tours.


Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the strategic planning, management, and execution of VEDP's event marketing initiatives.
• Aid in the creation and implementation of promotional materials related to events.
• Collaborate with Sector teams to enhance lead generation efforts and activities, which include participation in conferences and trade exhibitions, sponsorship and hospitality events, workshops, inbound familiarization tours, and outbound networking events aimed at showcasing state/regional assets to potential clients and site selection consultants, thereby generating leads.
• Coordinate event activities with local and regional economic development partners and other in-state stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Proficiency in managing stress and meeting deadlines effectively.
• Demonstrated sound judgment in decision-making.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects efficiently.
• Basic understanding of economic development principles and local/state government programs.

Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning and management is required.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and must meet all employment conditions.
• This position necessitates travel and representation of VEDP at various functions and events. A valid Virginia driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport are mandatory.

Compensation:
$60,000 minimum.
