Salary Range: $120,000 - $132,000 annually, exempt

Location: This role may be based at any of our centers or the headquarters office. Eligible for a hybrid work schedule after a successful introductory period.

Note: Only one position for VP of Marketing and Communications is available.

About Digital NEST:

Digital NEST is a workforce development organization dedicated to empowering youth from working-class and farmworker backgrounds by equipping them with essential technical and professional skills. We are currently focused on expanding our reach across five communities in Northern California by the end of 2026.

Role Summary:

The Vice President of Marketing and Communications will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that effectively convey Digital NEST's mission and impact. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategic communication framework, managing media relations, and collaborating with various teams and partners to showcase the achievements of NEST members and alumni.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Communications (50%): Lead the creation and implementation of the strategic communications plan, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Develop thought leadership initiatives to position Digital NEST as a leader in workforce development and technology education.
  • Digital Marketing Oversight: Manage digital marketing initiatives, including website, social media, and email campaigns. Conduct media analysis to inform digital strategy and oversee website management.
  • Media Relations: Serve as the primary contact for media inquiries, ensuring timely and effective communication. Enhance visibility through strategic partnerships.
  • Brand Management: Maintain brand integrity across all organizational communications and materials, providing training and guidance to staff.
  • Internal Communications: Collaborate with leadership to establish regular internal communication practices.

Content Development (20%):

  • Oversee the creation of impactful marketing materials and manage the editorial calendar.
  • Collaborate with the development team to produce compelling fundraising materials.

Program Support Communications (20%):

  • Work with program directors to highlight success stories and program impacts.
  • Ensure consistency in branding for all program-related materials.

Leadership and Team Management (10%):

  • Participate in leadership meetings and provide mentorship to the marketing and communications team.
  • Represent Digital NEST at external events and prepare communication materials for leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years in senior communications or marketing roles, with at least 7 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Requirements:

  • Commitment to the mission of Digital NEST and understanding of cultural and social issues.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
