Job Overview

Position Title: Procurement Management Associate I

Client: Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Firm

Contract Duration: 1 year with potential for extension

Work Schedule: First shift (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) Up to 40 hours weekly (Flexible start time: 7am-9am)

Role Summary:

  • Provides foundational support in sourcing, Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP).
  • Engages in the formulation and implementation of strategies and agreements for lower-value and less complex commodities.
  • Assists in developing cost models, conducting make vs. buy analyses, performing spend analysis, resolving invoice discrepancies, and other data evaluations.
  • Collaborates with Strategic Sourcing to address ongoing supplier performance challenges and validates suppliers during the early selection phase as part of EPDP.
  • Employs the Achieving Excellence framework to oversee supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implements the Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) with a focus on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Evaluates supplier quotations and selects vendors based on criteria such as quality, cost, process capability, lead time, and supplier reliability.
  • Participates in resourcing initiatives and make vs. buy evaluations.
  • Gathers cost data and prepares basic supplier cost and industry analyses.
  • Supports Engineering Change Management (ECM) to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of design modifications and product enhancements.
  • Develops and implements inventory strategies to achieve inventory management and material flow objectives.
  • Addresses shipping, receiving, invoicing, and payment challenges to ensure timely and accurate supplier payments.
  • Promotes continuous improvement in performance and total cost efficiency within the Supply Base, utilizing the Achieving Excellence process and criteria.
  • Identifies, resolves, and provides lasting solutions to supplier performance challenges with the assistance of other functional teams (e.g., quality, product engineering).
  • Manages daily supplier relationship issues to ensure effective communication.
  • Expedites parts as required.

Specific Position Requirements:

  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Order Fulfillment principles with the ability to apply knowledge independently.
  • Proficient in interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in Supply Management.
  • Formal education in Business, Finance/Accounting, Supply Management, or Engineering.
  • Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
