About the Role

Garver is seeking an experienced Water and Wastewater Commissioning Expert to oversee the startup of water and wastewater facilities nationwide. The successful candidate will manage the commissioning and startup activities for various water and wastewater projects, from final construction stages on through to project closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead diverse startup projects, guiding testing and commissioning teams, building and maintaining excellent client relationships, participating in industry activities and events, and contributing to the growth and development of the team through mentorship.
  • Manage multiple startup projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Perform operational risk assessments for new and existing water and wastewater treatment facilities, identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients, providing clear and concise updates on project progress and status.
  • Prepare and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate and lead internal and external project workshops, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide construction management assistance, as needed, to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
  • Periodic travel will be required on an as-needed basis for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties.
  • Professional and career development while attending industry conferences as a subject matter expert on behalf of Garver and the Water Business Line.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, as required, to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of water and/or wastewater technical project operations or engineering experience.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting treatment facility design drawings, including I&C and electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, specifications, and engineering systems shop drawings.
Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 10+ years of water and/or wastewater technical project operations or engineering experience.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Previous experience having been in responsible charge of facility startups and commissioning and management level treatment plant operations.
  • Strong understanding of multi-disciplined engineering practices (i.e., treatment process, mechanical, treatment chemical feed systems, electrical, instrumentation and control) required for the startup and commissioning of water and wastewater facilities.
