Overview:

Penguin Young Readers is seeking a dedicated Publishing Coordinator to support our Publishing Office. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the publishing sector and the broader market landscape. Reporting to the Assistant Directors of Publishing, the role involves collaboration with various teams across the division, including marketing, publicity, sales, and editorial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate regular sales and competitive analysis reports, disseminating insights to relevant departments such as sales, marketing, and editorial.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the publishing office and brand department, including organizing virtual meetings, sourcing materials, and managing hospitality for new team members and authors.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets for business reviews, conferences, and divisional meetings.
  • Offer routine support in diverse areas, including licensing, brand management, and title metadata.
  • Assist with special projects and research requests, such as updating editorial directories or conducting industry trend analyses.
  • Process product samples received from licensing partners.
  • Support internal events, including author visits and guest speaker sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Interest in the business aspects of publishing and analytical work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to embrace new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Genuine interest in children's literature.
  • Awareness of industry trends and topics.
  • Numerical aptitude.

Compensation:

The salary for this role is $48,000. All positions are eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, contingent on company performance.
