Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Manufacturing Manager to oversee our production operations in a facility focused on filtration media for stormwater and industrial water applications. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in manufacturing, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of water filtration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Strategy and Oversight:
    • Define both short-term and long-term production objectives and formulate strategies to achieve these goals.
    • Ensure adherence to production timelines and maintain high-quality standards for all products.
    • Supervise daily production activities to guarantee operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure compliance with rigorous quality control standards specific to filtration media.
    • Establish and uphold quality assurance protocols and procedures.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain quality benchmarks.
  • Performance Analysis and Improvement:
    • Examine production metrics to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
    • Implement initiatives to boost production efficiency and minimize waste.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to foster continuous improvement.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
    • Guarantee that the production area complies with all safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Encourage a safety-first culture and conduct regular safety training sessions.
    • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations pertinent to the production of water filtration media.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Guide, mentor, and assess production personnel, including supervisors and operators.
    • Promote a collaborative and high-performing team atmosphere.
    • Address employee inquiries and provide constructive feedback to support growth and development.
  • Resource Allocation:
    • Oversee budgets and manage production costs effectively.
    • Coordinate the optimal use of equipment and materials.
    • Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
    • Facilitate communication and cooperation with other departments, including R&D, Sales, Engineering, and upper management.
    • Engage with external partners to build long-term relationships and enhance production capabilities.
  • Inventory Management and Equipment Maintenance:
    • Monitor inventory levels and manage monthly pre-counts.
    • Ensure that equipment is well-maintained and operational.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred.
    • At least 5 years of experience in a technical or maintenance supervisory role, ideally within the water filtration sector.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • In-depth knowledge of water filtration media production processes.
    • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
    • Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
    • Experience in machine processing, troubleshooting, and metal fabrication.
    • Understanding of VFD programming.
  • Leadership Abilities:
    • Demonstrated capacity to lead and inspire a production team.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Working Environment
  • This position is situated in a manufacturing setting and may require prolonged periods of standing.
  • Occasional travel to vendor sites or other company locations may be necessary.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including occasional weekends or evenings, may be required to meet production demands.
