Position Overview
We are in search of a Production Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves engaging in the development, assessment, and enhancement of manufacturing methodologies.

By leveraging your expertise in product design, materials, fabrication techniques, tooling and equipment capabilities, assembly procedures, continuous improvement, and quality assurance standards, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our clients receive the exceptional quality products and solutions that Seegrid is renowned for.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to create tools, procedures, and controls that uphold consistent high-quality manufacturing output.
  • Enhance or establish manufacturing processes by designing optimal layouts for equipment and workspaces, planning workforce utilization, and streamlining workflows for maximum quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Work in conjunction with planning and design teams regarding product design, tooling, and testing methods to guarantee efficient production practices.
  • Engage with Seegrid Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Service teams to review product specifications, arrange for the procurement of equipment, materials, or components, and assess products based on specifications and quality benchmarks.
  • Estimate production timelines, staffing needs, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
  • Consult with management, engineering, and other personnel about manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other factors to facilitate production processes.
  • Utilize statistical methods to project future manufacturing needs and address defect reduction.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, software, and assembly challenges as they occur on the manufacturing line or during quality assessments.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our robotic systems along with the tools and methodologies we employ to configure and troubleshoot them.
  • Create, modify, and manage standard operating procedures and work instructions as necessary.
  • Participate in the evaluation and resolution of non-conforming materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical, industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline, with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, bills of materials, and test specifications, along with the ability to set up and conduct testing on mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Experience in configuring electromechanical systems, including software/firmware loading, is highly desirable; familiarity with robotics systems or industrial automation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems is preferred.
  • Understanding of electronic, electrical, and mechanical components, AC/DC systems, and functionalities such as PCB assemblies and cable harness fabrication is highly advantageous.
  • Strong team collaboration skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Capability to read, write, and interpret information effectively.
  • Physical ability to sit, walk, or stand for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, BasicLIKE, and MatLab is preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards such as IPC, ANSI, etc., is preferred.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and lean methodologies is preferred.
