As a Project Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce and the environment on construction sites. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough inspections of project sites to identify potential safety, health, and environmental hazards.
  • Creating and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, along with a timetable for regular inspections.
  • Formulating HSE protocols tailored to all construction activities.
  • Organizing and delivering training sessions on emergency response, workplace safety, and related subjects.
  • Overseeing adherence to safety protocols throughout ongoing projects.
  • Preparing detailed inspection reports that capture findings, outcomes, and necessary corrective measures.
  • Ensuring that safety data sheets are maintained electronically and are easily accessible.
  • Keeping accurate records of any hazardous waste discharge or employee exposure to pollutants.
  • Providing coaching, training, and mentorship to employees and subcontractors regarding safety standards and expectations.
  • Pursuing continuous professional development in the field.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • In-depth understanding of HSE regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in technology and equipment utilized in HSE inspections.
  • Competence in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant safety software.
  • Experience with databases and trends in heavy civil/infrastructure safety.
  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Collaborative team player with a drive for success.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for work-related purposes.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant HSE experience is preferred.
