CT State Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Veteran Services Associate to enhance and support the veteran student experience on campus. The successful candidate will serve as one of the campus' school certifying officials, processing enrollment certifications, notices of change of enrollment, and periodic verification of pursuit training. Key responsibilities include providing academic advising and retention strategies for veteran students, guiding them through college admission application processes, and reviewing and evaluating academic and military transcripts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of veteran educational policy and procedure, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. **Job Summary:**

The Veteran Services Associate will play a critical role in supporting the academic success and well-being of veteran students at CT State Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic advising, retention strategies, and support services to veteran students, as well as serving as a liaison between the college and veteran community partners.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide academic advising and retention strategies for veteran students
* Guide veteran students through college admission application processes
* Review and evaluate academic and military transcripts
* Serve as a liaison between the college and veteran community partners
* Maintain institutional and veteran data for reporting purposes

**Requirements:**

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* One or more years of experience in student services, advisement, or higher education
* Experience with veteran services and educational policy
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Experience using Banner student system
* Special consideration given to military veterans
* One year of community college experience
* Understanding of the mission of the community college

**Salary:**

$39.44 hourly
