Job Overview:
AllCare Primary and Immediate Care Clinics is in search of a seasoned and dynamic Medical Director to enhance our leadership team. As a physician-led entity, we are committed to delivering exceptional healthcare and positively influencing our patients' healthcare experiences.
The Medical Director will play a pivotal role in fostering engagement, recruitment, professional growth, and overall performance for our physicians and advanced practitioners (APPs) across our expanding Maryland locations. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role will initially encompass approximately 35% administrative duties and 65% clinical responsibilities, with the administrative component expected to grow as we expand our presence in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing all facets of physician and APP performance, driving engagement both on-site and virtually to meet performance benchmarks such as productivity, clinical quality, and patient satisfaction.
- Facilitating onboarding and training for newly hired physicians and APPs.
- Leading initiatives to enhance clinical documentation quality, collaborating with AllCare leaders to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Acting as the collaborating physician for a select group of nurse practitioners and supervising physician assistants, providing essential oversight and support for clinical practices.
- Assisting in discussions regarding physician and APP employment agreements and compensation structures.
- Engaging in the recruitment process for physicians and APPs, which includes candidate interviews and advising on offer specifics.
- Developing and implementing clinical initiatives and new service lines within the market.
- Providing guidance on risk management strategies.
- Serving as the CLIA Medical Director to ensure adherence to Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Collaborative Leadership: Promotes effective teamwork among physicians, APPs, and AllCare leadership.
Outcome Optimization: Ensures the communication and execution of organizational policies that foster positive performance outcomes.
Influential Communication: Navigates complex situations with skill, addressing challenges openly to achieve beneficial results for all stakeholders while providing mentorship to key personnel.
Accountability: Demonstrates ownership and clarity in responsibilities for delivering, monitoring, and assessing results.
Change Management: Guides others through transitions when new processes and services are introduced.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in primary care.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proven success in leading physicians and APPs within a large or rapidly growing medical group.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and fostering continuous improvement.
- Possession of a full, active, unrestricted medical license in Maryland.
- Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
Environmental conditions may vary based on assigned tasks and locations. Potential exposures include blood-borne pathogens, biohazardous materials, chemicals, communicable diseases, and varying temperature conditions. Personal protective equipment may be required, and travel will be necessary.
