Chief Medical Officer for Primary Care Facilities in Maryland

Overview: AllCare Primary and Immediate Care Clinics is in search of a proactive and seasoned Medical Director to enhance our leadership team. As a physician-led organization, we are committed to delivering exceptional healthcare and positively influencing our patients' healthcare experiences.
The Medical Director will play a pivotal role in fostering engagement, recruitment, professional growth, and overall performance for our physicians and advanced practitioners (APPs) across our expanding Maryland network, which currently comprises multiple locations. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role will initially encompass approximately 35% administrative duties and 65% clinical responsibilities, with the administrative aspect increasing as we expand our presence in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing all facets of physician and APP performance, ensuring engagement both on-site and virtually to help achieve performance benchmarks (e.g., productivity, clinical quality, patient satisfaction) while addressing any issues affecting their experience or efficiency.
- Facilitating onboarding and training for new physicians and APPs.
- Leading initiatives to enhance clinical documentation quality, collaborating with AllCare leaders to ensure compliance with established documentation standards.
- Acting as the collaborating physician for a select number of nurse practitioners and supervising physician assistants, providing necessary oversight and support for clinical practices.
- Engaging in discussions regarding physician and APP employment agreements and compensation structures.
- Participating in the recruitment process for physicians and APPs, including candidate interviews and advising on offer specifics.
- Developing and implementing clinical and quality initiatives, as well as new clinical service lines within the market.
- Providing guidance on risk management strategies.
- Serving as the CLIA Medical Director to ensure adherence to Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Collaborative Leadership: Promotes effective teamwork among physicians, APPs, and AllCare leadership.
Outcome Optimization: Ensures the communication and execution of organizational policies that foster positive performance outcomes.
Influential Communication: Navigates complex situations and resolves conflicts through open dialogue aimed at achieving beneficial results for all stakeholders. Provides mentorship and coaching to key personnel.
Accountability: Demonstrates ownership and clear responsibility for delivering, monitoring, and assessing results.
Change Management: Guides others through transitions when new ideas, processes, and services are introduced within the organization.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in primary care.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
- Proven success in leading physicians and APPs within a large or rapidly growing medical group.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and fostering continuous improvement.
- Possession of a full, active, unrestricted medical license in Maryland.
- Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
Environmental conditions may vary based on assigned tasks and work areas. Potential exposures include but are not limited to: blood-borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals, communicable diseases, and varying temperatures. Travel may be required, and the use of personal protective equipment may be necessary depending on the work environment.
