Position Overview
As a Bakery Department Supervisor, you will enhance sales within your section and oversee your team of hourly associates to provide our members with more of what they cherish, at a lower cost.

You will exemplify expertise in the Bakery sector and collaborate with other department leaders to ensure the entire club fulfills the members' expectations.


Key Responsibilities
Lead the Team:
Manage the team within the Bakery section to execute the business strategy and contribute to the overall success of the club by communicating departmental objectives; implementing company initiatives; adhering to policies, and advocating for the member, the associate, and the organization; working cooperatively with other department leaders to ensure the entire club meets member expectations.

Demonstrate Expertise:
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of operations on the sales floor, backroom functions, product specifications, and seasonal variations by ensuring the Bakery section meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory management, equipment usage, production, safety, sanitation, and compliance; sharing knowledge and training the team; ensuring team members are informed about new products, recipes, and production specifications, equipping them with the necessary tools to perform their roles effectively.

Utilize Technology:
Employ digital tools to strategize and boost sales, enhance the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.

Utilize handheld technology to make prompt business decisions regarding production, training, and product quality; adopt new tools and encourage others to utilize them.


Own the Operations:
Drive business outcomes, ensuring a commitment to operational excellence; maintain a tidy, safe, and clean work environment in the Bakery section; ensure appropriate planning and staffing for weekly bakery volumes; uphold consistency in quality, food safety, and company policies to support both production and member service; maintain accurate inventory, audit, and compliance standards; produce and display merchandise according to the merchandising layout plan.

Be a Talent Advocate:

Train and mentor the team by identifying training needs; providing and developing essential skills to deliver high-quality products to the members; promoting career advancement for team members; and sourcing new talent both internally and externally for the team.

Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from various sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement.

Demonstrate, promote, and support adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; utilizing the Open Door Policy; and assisting management in resolving ethical and compliance issues.

Lead and participate in teams by utilizing and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and assisting others in adapting to change or new challenges.

Live Better U is a company-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are fully covered by Walmart. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific plan or program terms.

The hourly wage range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be provided in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour under specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications:
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: 6 months experience in a bakery production department or 6 months experience supervising a team.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
