This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking finance team and make a significant impact on our company's tax strategy. As a seasoned tax professional with a strategic mindset and hands-on approach, you will oversee all tax-related activities, including the preparation of partnership and corporation returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and developing effective tax strategies.
Responsibilities:- Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including partnership and corporation returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
- Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
- Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Provide support with various internal audits and special tax-related projects.
- Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings.
- Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
- Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
- Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
