Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for performing patient access functions of a specialized nature, including registration, insurance, scheduling, and billing/POS collections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families.
  • Ensure accurate and timely registration, insurance verification, and scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Process patient payments and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with financial coordinators to provide financial assistance and counseling to patients.
  • Stay up-to-date with revenue cycle policies and procedures, and perform problem-solving activities as needed.
  • Perform area-specific support activities and demonstrate engagement in the work team and goals of the revenue cycle.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • No experience required, but a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced medical setting and maintain confidentiality and discretion.
What We Offer
