Heavy Equipment Technician

Position Overview for Heavy Equipment Technician
This role involves the servicing and upkeep of vehicles for Aero Snow Removal Ltd, a key player in the municipal and facility maintenance sector.
Key Responsibilities
+ Conduct maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles including Case, Cat, Crane Carrier, Detroit Diesel, Ford, GMC, International, John Deere, Komatsu, Mack, and Oshkosh.
+ Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with trucks and heavy machinery with minimal oversight.
+ Oversee the daily operations of service vehicles in both field and workshop settings.
+ Execute repairs on braking systems, hydraulic systems, and computerized ignition systems.
+ Carry out inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and machinery.
+ Engage with equipment at local airports during snow operations.
+ Perform test drives of equipment as necessary.
+ Be available for on-call duties during extended snow events.
+ Travel to various locations as required.
Qualifications
+ A minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical role.
+ Proficient in using all necessary tools, including welding and diagnostic equipment, as well as hand and power tools.
+ Diesel engine experience is essential.
+ Capable of utilizing maintenance software for managing work orders.
+ Ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
+ Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled environments.
+ Strong customer service and communication abilities.
+ Must possess personal tools.
+ Highly organized and able to work independently with little supervision.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Required to perform various physical activities including walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, grasping, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
