About the Opportunity

The Travelers Companies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team as we continue to grow and transform our Technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions for intermediate complexity assignments.
  • Participate in troubleshooting, conducting impact analysis, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Work independently to tackle well-scoped problems and seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver work at a steady, predictable pace and achieve commitments.
Requirements
  • Experience with AWS is strongly preferred.
  • Three years of programming/development experience, preferably with full-stack JavaScript (React and Node) and non-relational database experience.
  • Delivery skills, including the ability to deliver work at a steady, predictable pace and contribute to tradeoff and negotiation discussions.
  • Domain expertise, including the ability to understand technical concepts necessary to do the job effectively and demonstrate willingness, cooperation, and concern for business issues.
  • Problem-solving skills, including debugging skills and the ability to recognize and solve repetitive problems.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely interact with team members and document work in a clear, easy-to-follow manner.
  • Intermediate leadership skills, with a proven track record of self-motivation in identifying personal growth opportunities.
