Job Summary:

DePaul is seeking a highly skilled Medication Coordinator 2 to join our team. As a Medication Coordinator 2, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely administration of medications to our residents. This includes logging in client medications, making copies of prescriptions, and updating client charts and medication records. You will also be responsible for inventorying medication counts, ensuring prescriptions are refilled as needed, and overseeing the supervision of all residents' medications. Additionally, you will act as a liaison with residents, doctors, pharmacies, providers, and residential staff to ensure timely and accurate ordering of medications and appointment scheduling.

Responsibilities:

* Properly logs in all client medications, including checking labels for accuracy and completing proper documentation.
* Makes copies of all prescriptions and updates client charts and medication records as needed.
* Inventories medication counts in a timely fashion to identify medications that need to be ordered.
* Ensures that prescriptions are refilled as needed.
* Ensures that effective systems are in place for the ordering of all medications.
* Acts as a liaison with residents, doctors, pharmacies, providers, and residential staff as necessary to ensure timely and accurate ordering of medications and appointment scheduling.
* Oversees the supervision of all residents' medications in accordance with physicians' orders, agency policy, and NYS Office of Mental Health regulations.
* Reviews the Medications Administration Record (MAR) daily to ensure accuracy of the supervision of medications.
* Reports significant issues regarding client medications to the Assistant Director or Residential Services Coordinator.
* Assists with the training/orientation of all new applicable staff with regard to proper supervision of resident medications.
* Responsible for the monitoring and documentation of all residents involved in the self-medication process.
* Respects and maintains resident confidentiality and demonstrates a caring, positive attitude towards all residents, family members, staff, guests, and service providers.
* Provides support and supervision to Medication Coordinator 1s according to DePaul leadership standards.
* Ensures the medication room is clean, organized, quiet, and a welcoming environment for residents.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of a High School diploma/GED. Some college is preferred.
* Must have one (1) year of work experience in supervising and administering or managing medications in a health-related residential setting.
* Employee supervision experience preferred.
* Must have a clean NYS driving record as outlined in DePaul's personnel policy.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
