Procurement Coordinator

Foodlink Inc is seeking a skilled Procurement Coordinator to cultivate relationships with NYS farmers, food hubs, and food producers. The ideal candidate will leverage existing and establish new relationships to increase the quality and volume of product sourced for the food bank, kitchen, and Curbside Market.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Nourish New York Grant food expense, purchase all food to fulfill budget and grant obligations, and complete all reporting and necessary administrative responsibilities.
- Lead special projects related to procurement and sourcing of New York state product, including the Feeding America's Boundless Collaboration Dairy Pilot.
- Oversee strategic produce purchasing for Foodlink's Pop Up Pantry program, Kitchen, and Curbside Market, working closely with the Distribution Center Operations team to determine product needs.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with NYS farmers, food hubs, and food producers to strategically source fresh product for Nourish NY, Curbside Market, and Community Kitchen.
- Utilize Feeding America's platform Meal Connect- Produce Marketplace for produce sourcing opportunities.
- Regularly travel throughout the 10-county region to visit potential produce donors, promote the mission of Foodlink, and assist in identifying perishable food donation and purchasing opportunities.
- Assist with outreach to food retail donors and manufacturers throughout the 10-county region.
- Work with Volunteer Programs & Event Coordinator to coordinate annual gleaning events at local farms.
- Serve as lead contact for Feeding New York State's produce opportunities.
- Enter all Vendors and Donors and applicable Purchase and Donation orders into the inventory system in a timely fashion.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Foodlink's inventory management systems and related reporting.
- Minimum of 2 years purchasing/procurement experience.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite required.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Friendly, customer-oriented personality.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the 10-county service area.
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of Spanish helpful.
