This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and verify data on utility infrastructure assets using high-accuracy RTK and GNSS field data collection equipment
  • Update preexisting assets in the Utilities Master Geodatabase
  • Ensure accuracy of collected data prior to entry into the Infrastructure Management and GIS Programs
  • Record field measurements, including horizontal locations and vertical elevations
  • Research files, property ownership, maps, plans, plats, and other records for historical information
  • Assist with entering data into GIS and CAD systems
  • Maintain records and files on all phases of operations
  • Attend and participate in meetings with contractors, field personnel, and engineers
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
  • GIS Data Collection, ESRI GIS Mobile, and Desktop Application experience preferred
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Ability to obtain Confined Space Entry certification within six (6) months from date of hire
  • Ability to obtain an FDOT Maintenance of Traffic certification (MOT) within one (1) year from date of hire
Working Conditions

This position requires working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The ability to lift/carry up to 80 pounds and/or maneuver heavy objects such as sewer manhole covers is also required.
