Job Summary

The Field Technician is a key role at Universal Engineering Sciences, responsible for the day-to-day completion of work assignments related to testing concrete, soils, asphalt, and other construction materials. This position requires a reliable and trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and autonomy are valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures
• Conducts testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials at job sites
• Returns samples to the office for testing and reports data in an accurate, complete, timely, and understandable fashion
• Operates testing equipment and maintains it as required by the company and/or manufacturer's policy
• Communicates with the dispatching team and/or field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required
• Prepares testing reports using Field Data Collection (FDC) software and ability to write and retrieve emails using Microsoft Outlook

Requirements

• Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act
• Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reports
• Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• ACI Field Technician Level I
• Earthworks Construction Inspection Certification - Level I
