HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM

Our Head Start and Early Head Start initiatives aim to support children aged 0 to 5 and their families by equipping them with the necessary skills and stability for a successful transition into school. We ensure that children receive comprehensive health services, including screenings, immunizations, and nutritional assessments, alongside access to ongoing healthcare. Additionally, we provide nutritious meals and educational resources for parents, integrating nutrition education into daily activities.

JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

The Early Childhood Education Supervisor will oversee a designated location, ensuring that children are engaged in a rich environment filled with diverse activities that promote their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development, ultimately aiming for the child's overall social competence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the effective implementation of the educational curriculum for enrolled children, planning individual and group activities that encourage learning and parental engagement.
  • Reviews and verifies the accuracy of monthly teacher documentation to ensure timely submission of reports.
  • Ensures that the curriculum is tailored to meet the diverse needs of children, families, and staff.
  • Integrates various Head Start services, including parental involvement, health, nutrition, and mental health, into daily programming.
  • Maintains a safe and compliant physical environment according to state and local regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as required to support the program's mission.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful completion of a fingerprint clearance and background check, including criminal history and employment verification.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proof of health clearance upon hiring.
  • TB clearance within six months prior to employment.
  • Annual influenza vaccination during the specified period.
  • Immunizations for pertussis and measles.
  • Health screening at the time of employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to interact with children in a dynamic environment, including the capacity to lift up to 50 lbs, kneel, squat, and move swiftly.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Site Supervisor Child Development Permit.
  • Completion of 24 units in Early Childhood Education.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Management training or coursework.
  • Four years of teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with Head Start performance standards and Creative Curriculum.
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations and educational software applications.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
