Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team in addressing the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles County. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing essential healthcare services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and assess the health needs of individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Provide nursing services, including primary care, environmental health, and social services
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to develop and implement public health programs
  • Participate in epidemiological investigations to identify and contain infectious diseases
  • Provide public health education and training to community groups
Requirements
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • California Public Health Nurse Certificate
  • Valid California Class "C" Driver License (for some positions)
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience handling cases and outbreaks for People Experiencing Homelessness (PEH)
  • Experience providing direct services to vulnerable populations at encampments and skid row
  • Experience working with community stakeholders focused on supporting vulnerable populations
