Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts radiographic examinations using appropriate technical parameters, ensuring optimal image quality.
- Maintains proficiency in operating Radiology equipment, adhering to safety standards.
- Implements radiation safety measures, following ALARA principles for all imaging procedures.
- Completes quality control checks and maintains accurate logs as per regulatory requirements.
- Reviews patient requisitions and physician orders, noting any specific instructions or patient conditions.
- Facilitates patient flow to enhance comfort and efficiency during imaging procedures.
- Demonstrates critical thinking by prioritizing tasks and making informed decisions in patient care.
- Adapts imaging techniques based on patient age and clinical conditions.
- Engages in continuous education and participates in departmental meetings.
- Exhibits flexibility in staffing and scheduling to meet departmental needs.
- Willing to assist in various sections of the department as required for optimal patient care.
- Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and safety.
- Supports the training and educational development of students in the field.
- Ensures the safety of patients during imaging procedures, minimizing risks associated with equipment use.
- Assists radiologists with specialized procedures, including but not limited to biopsies and injections.
- May perform advanced procedures such as nephrostomy placements and renal angiography as needed.
Qualifications:
- ARRT Registered in X-ray and additional modalities or registry eligible.
- Preferred one year of experience in a Radiology setting.
- Licensed by the Texas Department of Health as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Availability for departmental call rotation and holiday shifts.
