About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fleet Service Manager to join our team at Avis Budget Group. As a key member of our fleet operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our fleet services function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fleet Utilization and Optimization: Develop and implement operating plans to maximize fleet utilization, directing and controlling the maintenance, vehicle damage repair, and reconditioning of fleet vehicles.
  • Performance Management: Manage the performance of team members against business plan goals, setting, communicating, monitoring, and updating key performance indicators on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Workload Management: Assess and manage daily workload in all areas of service, repair, and in-fleet/de-fleet, holding daily pre-shift meetings with team members to review prior day performance and communicate daily workload and goals.
  • Repair Order Management: Ensure all repair orders are completed and processed in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Warranty and Recall Management: Ensure timely completion of recalls, preventative maintenance, and quality of vehicle repairs, as well as warranty submissions that meet or exceed business plan targets.
  • Financial Management: Forecast, budget, and manage key financial drivers, including S&W per day, warranty recovery, cost per estimate, and cost per deletion.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate automotive damage appraisals/repairs, ensuring proper documentation of repair orders, and the ordering of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Employee Relations: Manage all facets of employee relations, including hiring, onboarding, training, recognition, and performance management to enable a high-performance culture.
  • Safety and Compliance: Provide a safe work environment by ensuring all safety policies and practices are followed and maintained.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma required; 2-4 year college degree preferred (or equivalent in education, training, or experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years management experience of employees in a related field (rental car, automotive shop, or service-oriented field).
  • Skills: Organizational and prioritization skills, financial acumen and forecasting skills, talent management and delegation, proven written and verbal communication skills, excellent investigation and problem-solving skills, negotiation and vendor management skills.
