This role is primarily based within PNC's operational footprint. Responsibilities will require regular office presence or fieldwork, with some tasks eligible for remote execution.

As an Information Security Specialist within PNC's Technology division, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our data and systems.

1. **Technical Expertise**

• **Data Protection**: Proficiency in techniques and technologies for data safeguarding.

• **Cloud Security**: Understanding of securing information in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• **Encryption**: Familiarity with data encryption methods (both at rest and in transit), key management, and cryptographic protocols is advantageous.

• **Network Security**: Knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems is beneficial.

• **Database Security**: Understanding of database protection measures, including role-based access control, auditing, and data masking is a plus.

• **Scripting and Automation**: Experience in automation and scripting is a plus.

• **Endpoint Security**: Skills in securing end-user devices and knowledge of endpoint protection tools are advantageous.

2. **Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge**

• **Data Governance**: Familiarity with frameworks and practices to ensure data quality, privacy, and security.

• **Audit and Reporting**: Capability to prepare for and respond to compliance audits, as well as generate necessary documentation.

3. **Soft Skills and Professional Qualities**

• **Delivery Oriented**: Ability to efficiently and effectively deliver initiatives and routine activities.

• **Problem-Solving**: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve data protection challenges.

4. **Experience**

• **Practical Experience**: Hands-on experience with implementing data protection controls and security technologies.

• **Project Management**: Experience in managing security projects or leading data protection initiatives.

• **Incident Response**: Experience in addressing security incidents and mitigating risks.

• **Delivery**: Proven track record in driving delivery for initiatives and routine activities.

• **Metrics Management**: Experience in developing metrics to support data protection processes is a plus.

• **Industry Experience**: Relevant experience in sectors such as finance, healthcare, or technology is advantageous.

5. **Tools and Technologies**

• **Data Protection**: Familiarity with data protection solutions is beneficial.

  • Conducts technical evaluations and analyses to support activities, processes, and tools aimed at enhancing the organization's overall security posture.
  • Applies security principles, reviews information, executes defined tasks, analyzes requirements, reviews logs, and creates documentation. Engages in investigations and data loss prevention, data manipulation, and coordination of activities. Takes actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Advises on complex security procedures and products for clients, security administrators, and network operations. Participates in enforcing control over security risks and threats.
  • Conducts security assessments and other information security routines consistently. Investigates and recommends corrective actions for data security in line with established guidelines.
