Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in a hybrid work environment based in Phoenix, AZ. This role requires a commitment to working Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break. The selected candidate will initially work on-site for the first two weeks before transitioning to a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in vulnerability remediation within a Microsoft Windows environment, collaborating with vendors to address monthly remediation challenges.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) to ensure optimal performance in critical networking settings.
  • Monitor and operate IPS technologies to detect and counteract intrusion attempts effectively.
  • Conduct risk identification and analysis based on network and system security principles.
  • Maintain knowledge of Cisco Firepower Threat Defense IPS solutions and PCI Data Security Standards.
  • Develop and uphold standards, policies, and procedures related to information security and data confidentiality.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist in monitoring Cisco Firepower Threat Defense IPS.
  • Support information security and PCI compliance initiatives for the Aviation Department.
  • Review network and security system logs to identify anomalies and potential threats.
  • Collaborate with the network team to audit firewall rules.
  • Participate in information security incident response activities.
  • Maintain secure configuration documentation and conduct routine compliance audits.
  • Perform risk analysis and compliance testing.
  • Provide recommendations for system hardening and assist with strategic planning.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor compliance with established security standards.
  • Review project scopes for adherence to administrative, technical, and operational standards.
  • Develop policies and procedures related to cybersecurity best practices and compliance.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, along with three or more years of progressive experience in information security, particularly with Cisco IPS solutions. A combination of relevant experience and technical certifications may substitute for educational requirements. Current certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CEH, and experience managing PCI compliant environments are highly desirable.
