Job Summary

The Medical Office Assistant plays a vital role in the delivery of primary health care support and patient care management at Iredell Memorial Hospital Incorporated. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in implementing nursing care as directed, ensuring seamless patient care management.
  • Provide administrative support in the medical office, including scheduling, payments, billing, and medical records management.
  • Utilize business software and medical office equipment to maintain accurate records and ensure efficient operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Clerical experience, including scheduling, payments, billing/coding, medical records, and a working knowledge of medical office equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to pay close attention to details and multitask.
  • Current CPR certification or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire.
Physical Demands
  • Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
