Role Summary (PSR): A vital role in a medical office, focusing on front office operations within the physician's practice.

About Frye Regional Medical Center: Nestled in the scenic foothills of North Carolina, Frye Regional Medical Center is a 355-bed acute care facility, complemented by an 81-bed Behavioral Health unit and over 70 primary and specialty care providers.

Key Responsibilities (CMA)
  • Evaluate patient needs and health plans by measuring vital signs, documenting medical history, and identifying chief complaints.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the patient's medical records following established charting protocols.
  • Prepare medical equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
  • Administer prescribed medications and perform various types of injections and lab tests.
  • Maintain a hygienic and organized environment for patients and staff, including the cleaning and sterilization of instruments.
  • Adhere to personal protective equipment guidelines to safeguard against exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Coordinate specialized consultations and appointments as directed by physicians, including insurance pre-certifications.
  • Manage office communications, assist with appointment scheduling, and provide patient support.
  • Facilitate patient check-out processes and assist with referrals and scheduling.
  • Support additional functions within the physician's practice as required.
Key Responsibilities (PSR)
  • Welcome patients as they arrive at the practice.
  • Handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and confirm or reschedule as needed.
  • Check in patients, gather accurate demographic information, and verify insurance details.
  • Assist with patient check-out and manage referral processes.
  • Collect co-payments and process patient charges.
  • Perform charge entry and manage patient balance inquiries.
  • Provide patients with information regarding office policies and procedures.
  • Guide patients through the enrollment process for the patient portal.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Education (CMA):
