Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to the healthcare team at Frye Regional Medical Center. This role will assist in the assessment of patient needs and health plans, complete necessary documentation, and prepare equipment for medical treatments and exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient physical and mental status, take vital signs, and determine chief complaint.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians with medical treatments, exams, and procedures.
  • Administer prescribed oral medications and give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
  • Perform venipunctures, CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA Waived lab testing.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
  • Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Arrange for specialized consultations and appointments for testing as ordered by physicians.
  • Notify insurance personnel to pre-certify surgeries or tests ordered by physicians.
  • Answer office phones and assist front desk with scheduling appointments and directing calls.
  • Assist in checking out patients and assist them with referral processing and scheduling process.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required.
  • Current credentialing (certification/registration) with American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA), NRCMA, NHA, NCCT, or American Medical Technologists (AMT-RMA) required.
