Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Dermatology Associates of Virginia. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and treatments, including taking patient histories, performing routine lab procedures, and collecting and preparing specimens for transport to the lab.
  • Handle patient phone calls and respond to messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Document patient information in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and assist with data entry and reporting.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, preparing lab forms, and maintaining inventory and supplies.
  • Comply with office policies and procedures, including OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of medical assisting experience preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program (CCMA, CMA, or MA) or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent walking and sitting.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. No travel is expected within the first six months of employment.
