Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Adult Housing Case Manager to join our team at Cocoon House. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting young adults in achieving stability and independence.

Key Responsibilities


  • Create a welcoming community and build positive relationships with tenants while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Assist tenants in maintaining housing stability, including support around lease agreements and unit maintenance.
  • Provide client-driven case management services, supporting tenants in setting and working towards goals, skills development, and building external support networks.
  • Connect tenants to necessary support services in Snohomish County, facilitating long-term stabilization and housing stability.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure tenants' progress on goals during off-site hours.
  • Address conflicts and issues within the program in a productive and supportive manner.
  • Conduct assessments and record outcomes, goals, and progress for each tenant, maintaining accurate and compliant records.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with residents.
  • Perform light cleaning duties in communal areas.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and logs.


Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED, with a minimum of one year of experience working with young adults experiencing homelessness or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Clear background check with DCYF.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build trust with youth and colleagues.
  • Proficient in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Knowledge of street culture, adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Good organizational and data recording skills.
  • Ability to travel and work in various weather conditions.
