Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager will lead infrastructure projects in the bridge/structural, and highway construction service line. This role requires technical oversight, staff development, contract management, technical and cost proposal development, project performance, and client management for targeted statewide clients.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Senior Office Leadership, Regional Bridge and Highway Practice Leads, and construction managers from other Michael Baker offices to expand the structural engineering practice.
  • Manage construction projects throughout New York and New Jersey.
  • Lead proposal efforts by leveraging existing client relationships and teaming relationships to grow the department.
  • Assist the Department with managing staff utilization, creating and monitoring department budgets, and providing leadership and direction to staff.
  • Develop strategic goals for the Construction Services practice in NY/NJ.
  • Participate in internal and external professional development activities.
Professional Requirements
  • Possess a degree in Civil Engineering, with an advanced degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures and construction management preferred.
  • Minimum 20+ years of highway and bridge related design experience, including 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Valid New York and/or New Jersey Professional Engineering License required.
  • Prior experience as a Project Manager/Resident Engineer on New York State and New Jersey DOT Bridge Design Projects required.
  • Prior experience as Design Manager and/or Lead Structural Engineer on a New York State DOT Design Build Project preferred.
  • Experience with road and/or rail bridge rehabilitation design, seismic analysis, and rating analysis desired.
  • Possess strong verbal, written, presentation, and client management skills, with demonstrated ability leading and managing the design and detailing of complex transportation structures.

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $220,000+, dependent on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
