Job Overview

Are you eager to contribute to a thriving organization dedicated to impactful community development? Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager of Strategic Initiatives to enhance their operational effectiveness.

This role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Project Leadership:

  • Oversee and direct strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational objectives.
  • Establish and uphold project management frameworks, including tools and processes, to effectively monitor and report on progress.
  • Identify and rectify operational inefficiencies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and successful project execution.

Stakeholder Relations & Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, and community organizations.
  • Act as a representative at various forums, promoting the organization’s strategic goals and policy priorities.
  • Organize and facilitate stakeholder meetings to ensure collaborative alignment on strategic objectives.

Support for Strategic Planning:

  • Assist in crafting and executing the strategic plan, ensuring coherence across various business units.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to facilitate effective project management and communication throughout the organization.
  • Provide essential support in translating strategic objectives into actionable plans that align with the organization's mission.

Policy Advocacy & Support:

  • Engage in legislative processes, supporting advocacy efforts and maintaining connections with policy partners.
  • Research and promote public policy solutions that resonate with the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Support relevant councils and committees in their initiatives and objectives.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor within the organization, offering strategic guidance to project teams.
  • Work collaboratively with volunteer leadership to leverage their expertise in advancing organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate effective communication channels to proactively address emerging strategic challenges.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, public policy, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly in strategic or civic contexts.
  • Proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and manage complex projects.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with varied audiences.
  • Familiarity with local community dynamics and key civic organizations is advantageous.
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain relevant project management certifications is preferred.
Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional projects.
