Job Title: Bartender

At The Sandbar, we're seeking a skilled and friendly Bartender to join our team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a wide range of beverages to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers with a smile and offer personalized service
  • Take beverage orders from guests and servers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, beers, and wines, adhering to our drink recipes and presentation standards
  • Record drink orders accurately and promptly in our POS system
  • Provide attentive service to guests, monitoring their drink levels and offering refills as needed
  • Accept payment and provide receipts to customers
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces
  • Check customer identification to ensure they meet the legal drinking age requirement
  • Stay knowledgeable about drink prices, ingredients, and promotions
  • Present drink menus and make recommendations to guests, answering their questions and concerns
  • Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar
  • Stock and maintain inventory of bar supplies, following proper rotation procedures
  • Minimize waste and spillage, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Monitor customers' alcohol intake, slowing or stopping service for intoxicated guests
  • Wash glassware and prepare garnishes as needed
  • Report equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to management
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the establishment

Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have working knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor, as well as common drink recipes
  • Ability to prepare and mix cocktails
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle money
  • Ability to operate a POS system, cash register, and calculator
  • Knowledge of proper glassware for different types of drinks
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 9 hours)
  • Ability to lift and carry cases of liquor, beer, and wine
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Friendly personality and ability to create rapport with customers
