Position Overview
We are in search of individuals who are enthusiastic about aiding the Department of Defense in preserving its technological edge by leveraging both current and forthcoming technologies to address identified capability gaps, opportunities, and threats. The selected candidate will engage primarily in government settings within the National Capitol Region.
The individual in this position will provide assistance to OSD R&E through stakeholder engagement, research, evaluation, and technical support in the transition of pivotal technologies to operational users.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a qualified candidate to operate at the forefront of defense technology concepts, testing, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate technology transition and participate in working groups.
- Identify and implement advanced modeling & simulation capabilities to support the transition of cutting-edge warfighting architectures for operational use and the development of necessary capabilities.
- Formulate strategic and technical plans.
- Conduct research to assist procurement activities, timelines, and technology/system transfer.
- Provide support for assessments, demonstrations, and field trials.
- Perform quantitative analyses of system/mission requirements regarding the integration of advanced technologies.
- Assemble senior advisory panels to conduct studies and evaluations on systems and technologies.
- Define test objectives and procedures.
Travel may be necessary to fulfill tasks, including travel within the CONUS and OCONUS, as well as within the NCR for meetings, conferences, and training.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in advancing the development and implementation of sophisticated electronic warfare technologies and electronic attack systems, including support for a warfare specialty involving the planning, development, and execution of technical projects of an R&D nature, addressing unique or controversial challenges impacting major DoD programs.
- Proven ability to conceive, plan, and execute research studies that merge operational expertise with innovative technology approaches and advanced research techniques to evaluate military effectiveness and engineering feasibility.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing advanced techniques, theories, principles, and practices in technological programs, preferably those that have transitioned to operational use, or programs related to key areas outlined in the PWS.
- Experience, background, and knowledge of program transition efforts are highly desirable.
- Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
Desired Qualifications
- PhD in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Joint/COCOM staff experience.
